Positive Behavioural Support Training for families

Dear parent/family member, please take a moment to read this; it may be to your benefit!

We are currently applying for funding to run a pilot project next year in Cornwall delivering free Positive Behavioural Support Training for parents/families of people with autism.

In the wake of the recent abuse scandal at the Winterbourne View care home in Bristol the Government published a report recommending the widespread adoption of PBS as the model of choice (Winterbourne Report: 7.28 & 7.29). All too often parents do not receive this type of training (mainly due to cost) and therefore lose opportunities for effective early intervention.

In addition to the training we are hopeful of being in a position to offer free access to an innovative online Behavioural Monitoring tool (with technical support, where required) which will assist you in creating your own Behavioural Support Plan – providing assistance & guidance to SENCOs & relevant others involved in your child’s weekly welfare. This process will complement the training.
You can find out more here https://www.ipbspro.co.uk/

To be eligible your child should be between 5 and 15 years old and resident in Cornwall.

If you’d like to benefit then you’ll have to register by giving us a call or sending an email. Similarly, please contact us if you’d like to learn more about what’s involved.
